Inspired by vintage china crockery, these lacy granny squares are joined as you go for a quick and easy finish.
This is a Pattern that was saved for me by my mother from Woman’s Way magazine Issue 11th February 2019. Mums are really great for saving these types of things for you. The Pattern credit goes to Laura Strutt the author of ‘Modern Crocheted Blankets, throws and cushions’. This pattern I assume is from this book. If I am wrong in any accreditation please do not hesitate to contact me to correct it.
This is one of the many Works in progress or WIPs that I have in the ‘corner of shame’. I do love this pattern which has been given a difficulty rating of 2. Magazines usually a have limited amount of space of these types of patterns. They could not allow for more in-depth instructions or further visuals aids that would help. I wrote out the pattern in a format that was easier for me to follow after a couple of failed attempts at the making the square. Sketching out a rough pattern layout is also a good idea.
I highly recommend doing this if you are having trouble understanding a pattern. Vintage patterns in particular, assume alot of knowledge that has been lost over the decades.
I finally understood how I was to make the throw it started to work up quite fast. I did get bored very quickly as it is the same pattern for each square. Some other pattern caught my eye to make. This brings me to now. As you can see Ive worked up 35 squares. I still have 85 to do 🙈

If you have made this throw I would love to see what colors you used. Or if you had the same issues I had reading the pattern.
I will post an update and progress report on this throw.
